The Story of AI-PASS:

After years of experience in the anesthesia field, working in operating theaters, critical care units, and obstetric departments at one of the world's leading hospitals, Dr. Tural identified significant issues with preoperative evaluations, including missing data and a lack of standardization. Determined to find solutions, he discussed his concerns with his colleagues, and their analytical minds and extensive experience in perioperative care inspired Dr. Tural to explore innovative solutions.

To validate his concept, Dr. Tural, with the support of his colleagues, prepared an abstract and submitted it to the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) Annual Congress 2020, the world’s largest anesthesia event. The ASA scientific committee peer-reviewed the project and accepted it for presentation. Dr. Tural's presentation impressed thousands of leading anesthesiologists globally. Following this success, the project manuscript was published in The Journal of Research & Innovation in Anesthesia (RIA) after a rigorous peer-review process.

Recently, the latest European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) Guidelines (November 2024) on Preoperative Patient Assessment, published in the European Journal of Anaesthesiology (EJA), have cited SmartAnesthesia! In these updated guidelines, ESAIC highlights the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in perioperative assessment, noting how innovations like SmartAnesthesia can streamline and personalize preoperative journeys. This recognition from one of Europe’s leading anesthesiology societies validates our mission to create safer, more efficient, and patient-centered perioperative care.

The AI-PASS team continues to develop their business strategies and startup plans, aiming to join various innovation hubs in Canada to connect with entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, academics, and government partners. Their dedication and hard work recently culminated in gaining membership in AdvaMed - Advanced Medical Technology Association. This membership signifies a major milestone, aligning AI-PASS with a prestigious network committed to advancing medical technologies and improving patient care worldwide.
